APGA CHAIRMAN EZEOKENWA ATTENDS AMICHI CATHEDRAL CEREMONY, UMUNNACHI NEW YAM FESTIVAL

By APGA Publicity Committee

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, spent Sunday, September 21, 2025, in a series of community engagements across Anambra State.

His participation in both a significant religious ceremony and a major cultural festival highlighted a commitment to the spiritual and traditional values of the people.

The day began at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Amichi, where Chief Ezeokenwa joined the congregation to witness the solemn Collation and Installation of five new Canons and six Archdeacons. This important event was held under the spiritual leadership of His Lordship, Rt. Rev’d Ephraim O. Ikeakor, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Amichi.

The Collation and Installation service is a momentous occasion within the Anglican community, serving to honor dedicated service, spiritual maturity, and profound pastoral commitment. Chief Ezeokenwa’s presence at the sacred event was a gesture of support for the church and its leaders, acknowledging their vital role in community building and moral guidance.

Later on Sunday, the APGA National Chairman joined the people of Umunnachi in celebrating the vibrant Umunnachi New Yam Festival 2025. The celebration was hosted at the residence of Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands in Anambra State. The New Yam Festival is a joyous time across Igbo land, symbolizing gratitude for a bountiful harvest and the preservation of rich cultural heritage.

Chief Ezeokenwa’s participation in the festival was a practical demonstration of the APGA mantra of being “our brother’s and sister’s keeper.” His involvement reflected a spirit of communal gratitude, joining with brethren to thank God for the immense blessings and favor witnessed throughout the year.

By moving from the sacred atmosphere of the cathedral to the celebratory grounds of the cultural festival, Chief Ezeokenwa’s engagements illustrated a holistic approach to leadership. His presence at these events reinforced APGA’s deep connection to the community, standing with the people in moments of spiritual significance and cultural celebration.

Signed
